Lucky you! Glad things worked out so far. No apneas is a little troubling, but given your other symptoms, it seems like secondary narcolepsy (nacrolepsy as a result of other problems). For that diagnosis according to the textbook I'm currently going through doesn't really have a set diagnostic criteria (like the 2 SOREM criteria for "traditional" narcolepsy), but, 1 SOREM after a night of logged sleep without apnea interference is still noteworthy.

I called the sleep neurologist today to ask about my test results. I was told I don't have narcolepsy, but she is going to treat me with nuvigil. I have an appointment later this month, and I'll get all the gory details.

the treatment likely wouldn't be much different if they had labelled it officially N anyway. What you're experiencing seems to be secondary narcolepsy, or narcolepsy as a symptom, rather than a diagnosis or "traditional" N.
Good luck with the nuvigil!
