I read this article on http://www.huffingto...tml?view=screen Yes this is good explanation about to know what is narcolepsy? What are the symptoms of it and at what age gropu it may affects?

We do not know what triggers it. However, genetic, autoimmune, and infectious causes have been suggested. We do know that destruction of nerve cells that produce the neurotransmitter hypocretin is the root cause in the majority. This is an individual issue where they have to fight sleepiness during the day but be unable to sleep at night. “Disrupted nighttime sleep” is a major symptom of narcolepsy. However, It is good to know that, Narcolepsy is treatable. There are several excellent therapies available with more on the way..
