I know a lot of people go in because of the sleepiness or cataplexy but I always ignored those symptoms because, like I stated in my story post, I am a mom and had a speech problem when I was younger so tiredness and slurred speech is not a big problem. Plus people started think I was a hypochondriac because i had 3 different surgeries in three years. To my defense one was an emergency appendectomy and the other two was scheduled but still necessary. (septoplasty for horrible sinus problems and a bladder sling for early onset incontinence). So i stopped mentioning to people that I was tired all the time and even decided not to tell my dr about it. Then i started having really scary hallucinations before falling asleep. They started out small (bugs and the like crawling on my bed and walls) but progressed to things like shadowy figures in my closet or a demon looking thing in the bed. These got me so scared to even attempt sleep that my husband finally begged me to see my Dr and to make a long story short and after some denials for a sleep study i finally got my N diagnoses on 3 days ago, much to my surprise because that is the last thing I thought caused all of my problems.
