The BBC made a documentry about narcolepsy. Channel 4 for took a clip from the AGM meeting at the narcolepsy network and posted it on this website. http://www.channel4....ments/51-75.htm
TV's funniest moments. Look at number 67 which shows people suffering from N at the meeting falling asleep.

Cutting Edge who work for Channel 4 came to the AGM meeting in April this year to video people with N & C. They came to the applicants house to film. If you didn't have a cataplexy attack or fall asleep in the half an hour that they where there they didn't want you to appear on this documentary and go to the convention. By taking a group of 4 narcoleptics, who suffer severe cataplexy so are most likely to fall asleep at a convention, are they actually trying to recreate that scene from the 100 Greatest Funny Moments.
http://www.channel4.com/corporate/... in which Alistair Pegg, Editor, Factual Entertainment says "The film is about four British narcoleptics who have never previously met each other or other narcoleptics, before going to a convention in the US. They have to travel to the US and, suddenly, they are faced with 80 other people with their condition. The idea behind it is that people with narcolepsy feel reassured that, when in the company of others, they are not going to collapse and fall asleep on their feet, so they suffer fewer attacks. That is all I have seen of it so far but I hope that it is a both funny and tender film."
NOTE: Use of the word FUNNY. No wonder we cannot get people to take narcolepsy seriously.

I hope that the producers showed the edited finished programme to the Narcolepsy Network people who let these people film at their AGM. This programme will be aired at 9pm soon on a Thursday night on Channel 4 (as Cutting Edge has just started its series). You should be able to view it on On 4 demand when aired on tv.

The link didn't work for me. If anyone else can find some other links of this to post, I'd appreciate it.

I got a bad feeling about this. Like we need another Duece Bigelo.

Hi,
Please read
http://narcolepsynet...?showtopic=2219
It is on the Uk forum under Narcolepsy Documentary. It seems my worries for the Cutting Edge doc have been ill founded. Please watch, Channel 4, Thursday at 9pm on the 9th October. It seems the UK are at last giving our condition some PR. I recognised my symptoms of N from a tv doc quite a few years back.
