First and foremost, I LOVE your hair in the picture! Okay, now on to the serious stuff. I hope your follow up went well. What meds did you get? Merrymom1013 is totally correct that it might take time to find the correct meds. For me the biggest piece of learning to live with this has been learning to accept that I am limited. My "official" diagnosis came at 39, but I had know something was wrong since I was 33. And, the signs were there as early as middle school. At the same time, I had learned to push myself well beyond my physical limits. Much of the past year has been me un-learning all of the things that I used to do to make myself work harder. Be kind to yourself! This condition is awful, but accepting it has been such a blessing for me. I still have plenty of angry days, but more often than not, I simply recognize that I only have so much energy and focus it on the things most important to me. I hope you will continue to post and to share your story.

If I were allowed to only give you one piece of advice, that would be: "Knoweledge is power". Educate yourself on Narcolepsy -- Read everything on this site -- Don't be afraid to share, you will find many of us that will have probably experienced the same. It's all about coping; the more you know and understand, the easier it will be.
