My former employer cancelled my benefit program that I was told I would have while I worked and thoughout retirement. They helped find another benefit package, but the specialist, who has since quit, midlead me into thinking that if I chose the program he was pushing I would not have to worry about getting my prescriptions that all would be taken care of. Well I find that I have to pay for all my prescriptions until my out of the pocket expenses reaches 4050 dollars. I have been both Mayo Clinic and The University of Iowa, Department of Neurology diagnosed me having Narcalepsy and after experimenting with different drugs and having sleep studies done, the results were the same. I have been taking 5 20 mg Ritalin or Methylphenidate Tabs 10 times a day for the past 25 years. This program has been working very well with no problems. Now I am asked to pay 954.00 dollars for Ritalin alone and I cannot afford it. The doctor says he knows of no subsitute, the insurance company say sorry can't help, I have tired various assistance programs and was finally accepted by one of the manufacturers and was given a card to purchase my meds. However they covered Ritalin LA only. My doctor and I worked out a plan based on past history of how to take the Ritalin LA, When I went to pick it up they would only give me a little over a two day supply. Wouldnt a letter to the company by the doctor detailing my medical needs take care of this issue. ???? All I know is that I will be out of meds soon and don't know where to turn.

I take Adderall. I have to take a 10mg pill 3 times a day. its only about 30 dollars a month. I don't have insurance. Maybe you can ask if that would work for you.
